HISTORY WITH THE ROC

Cori has been involved with the ROC since 2010,

and has taken part in multiple programs the ROC

has offered. From girls ROCk it, club ROC, camp

ROC, as well as many more. Being involved with

the ROC for 9 years, Cori has had the opportunity

to watch the ROC grow into what it is today. With

her love for music as well as the ROC, it made her

the perfect candidate to be the ROC co-op student.

The orchestration of the Roc’N Revue was underway

during her time of starting, a perfect opportunity in

which she was up for.

SKILLS LEARNED

During the months of February to May, Cori spent

her time focusing of the planning of Roc’N Revue. As Cori was in the process of planning this event, she was able to learn a multitude of skills. Some, but not limited to are: administration work, grant and sponsorship proposals, learning how to adapt to work environment (business to youth setting), analyzing a whole project and making a timetable targeted at task that needs to be completed, as well as learning how to deal with professional financial rejection.

FAVOURITE MEMORY/THING ABOUT THE ROC

“My favourite memory from the time I’ve spent with the ROC is the afternoons I used to come with my friends Matt, Jake, and Allie. We would visit employees such as: Lesley Lavender and Hilary Fennell at the youth centre. I enjoyed this because these 2 wonderful women have had such important impacts on our lives as high school students and young adults.”
